The following is an alphabetical list of the roles that may be involved in any group action.

ABSTRACT DESIGNER: The ability to design macro solutions to problems that require the complex integration of multiple conceptual models.

CONCRETE DESIGNER: The ability to design detailed, workable solutions for practical problems.

COUNSELOR: The ability to help others embrace workable solutions to their personal problems.

EVALUATOR: The ability to ensure the quality of the project and the integrity of the people involved.

FINANCIER: The ability and willingness to fund, whether for profit or not, specific people or enterprises.

GROUP ARBITRATOR: The ability to negotiate a satisfactory solution between two or more parties who have real or potentially conflicting interests.

LEADER: The ability to influence the direction and values of a group effort so as to mobilize the resources necessary to accomplish a goal.

MANAGER: The ability to oversee a selected task force so that the work gets done and the morale among workers is satisfactory.

ORGANIZER: The ability to arrange information, events, or tasks so that they are completed efficiently.

PROMOTER: The ability to proclaim the value of a person, concept, or thing in a convincing manner.

RECRUITER: The ability to enlist other people in the pursuit of a common enterprise.

SELLER: The ability to guide others in committing their resources toward a particular product, project, person, or concept.

SPECIALIST: The ability to perform specific and specialized tasks involving information, aesthetics, or technical skills.

STABILIZER: The ability to ensure that an enterprise continues to function in a steadfast, dependable manner.

SUPPORTER: The ability to help others succeed without requiring much personal recognition in the process.

TEACHER: The ability to communicate ideas and information in a useful, easily understood manner.

TRAINER: The ability to impart a skill to another.

VISIONARY BUILDER: The ability to envision the potential of an idea or project and provide the impetus to ensure its fulfillment.

In accomplishing a group endeavor, certain primary roles work in concert with others and come into play at fairly predictable points. Primary roles can be grouped in even broader categories.
